FOUR: You’ve carried forward a legacy of five generations. How has that shaped your perspective as a woman in this field?
Dr. Jayalakshmi: Ayurveda was a part of my DNA even before I understood its depth. Growing up under the guidance of my parents, I witnessed firsthand how healing could be a calling. As a woman, I felt a responsibility to not only preserve this legacy but also evolve with it. Today, tradition and empowerment go hand in hand here.

Dr. Jayalakshmi: Kerala is unique—women have long held space in healthcare. In Ayurveda especially, women practitioners bring an intuitive understanding of care, particularly in emotional well-being and long-term rejuvenation.
