Founded by designer and sustainability advocate Anurag Bhandari, Ek Kalaakar Design Studio represents the confluence of environmental responsibility and aesthetic excellence. Headquartered in Ahmedabad, the studio has established itself as a distinctive name in upcycled design, transforming industrial contradictions into bespoke furniture, lighting, and sculpture.
Anurag’s vision was sparked by a weaver bird’s nest crafted entirely from found materials. This moment crystallized his ethos: beauty should be created without depleting the planet’s resources. With a background in transportation design and the steel industry, he chose to address environmental challenges directly through the art of the "found object."
The Philosophy: Flawed + Fabulous
At the core of the brand lies a simple yet powerful mantra: Flawed + Fabulous. Recycled + Reusable. Every creation begins with discarded or overlooked materials—wood, acrylic, mild steel, slag, and concrete—objects that have reached the end of their conventional use.
Since its inception, Ek Kalaakar has repurposed more than five tonnes of waste, diverting it from landfills. The process is material-led; the inherent textures and structural nuances of each piece dictate its transformation, ensuring that sustainability and luxury coexist seamlessly.

While the studio’s portfolio is anchored in sustainable products, Ek Kalaakar also undertakes customized commissions for architects, interior designers, and private collectors.
